Alaska or bust
« on: June 19, 2011, 05:50:17 PM »
I have packed and repacked several (3) times. I have read and searched and talked to a lot of folks. The ride begins in the morning, I leave Ocala Florida around 7am headed for Alaska and will return 11k to 12k and 5 weeks from now. I got new Pr2s and the bike has 3900 miles on it. I will let everyone know how she holds up......hope I can get some sleep tonight.

Jn Juneau tonight rode over 6k since starting and have seen alot. I will provide pics when I return home. The Alcan Highway, Yelowstone and the Ice field parkway have all been great. One note, I did not bring a gas can or gas and have not needed it at all. The only time my low fuel light came on was leaving Yellowstone and that was my fault as I had the opportumity to fill up in the park and dd not. If you make this trip you should realize the hotels in Canada and Alaska are very expensive I was suprised at the prices still I have only camped three nights  sinceleft home on 6/20. Having a great time. I have decided to ride the ferry from Juneau to Bellingham saving me from returning on some roads I have already ridden.
