During the 1500s, poor families would urinate in a pot and at the end of the day this urine would be sold at the local tannery to tan animal hides. Some families were so poor that they "didn't have a pot to **** in" thus the term.

Fitting for frappy frugal farkeled out connie owners ;D

Mind your p's and q's comes from English pubs and taverns of the seventeenth century. Bartenders would keep a watch on the alcohol consumption of the patrons; keeping an eye on the pints and quarts that were consumed. As a reminder to the patron :chugbeer:s, the bartender would recommend they "mind their Ps and Qs".

After doing a quick search I found that there could be another explenation.

Another origin of the story of "mind your Ps and Qs" comes from early printing presses. Printers placed individual letters on a frame to print a page of text. The letters were reversed, making it easy to mistake lowercase ps and qs in setting the type. A reminder to stay watchful of the details could have come from this time as well.

I like to drink so I will judt stick with the first one.

Snow day baby!

Yes sir! No work today and I still get paid.  ;D I'll be out on my sled later, after a leisurely workout and breakfast, maybe a nice soak in the hot tub first.

It will be snowing here on Wednesday, so they say.  Since I work out of the house, I won't be taking time off.  I think I'll do that on Friday, though....that is, take off.   Won't be any riding as there will be too much salt and sand on the road.

I have a home office also. Snow day for me means I get the ATV out and plow the driveway between conference calls. I'm still outside on an ATV so it's still motorsports right?

Snowing here this morning.  Very wet snow.  The wife is in the RAV4 heading to work.  Roads aren't too bad yet....at least for the RAV.  Feds are closed but Dahlgren is open.  Directv doesn't work.  The snow is blocking the signal for now.....drats!

Does this mean you don't have to play in the snow?

Their mom will do that when she wakes up later this afternoon (she works nights), assuming that the snow is still there.  The temps are rising here, but it's snowing like all get out in the western part of the state.  My armor tends to get rusty in snow and I don't like the cold either anymore.  We're right on the snow/rain line at the moment.  Front Royal is getting plastered and Charlottesville has 20k out of power.  The winds are picking up which doesn't bode well with wet heavy snow.

This is where I park my bike at work. Looks like it'll be a while before I get to do that.
