Peg lowering, adjusting brake?

Just ordered MCL peg lowering brackets and can't see how to lower the brake pedal.  Help!

Remove the four allen bolts holding the rear brake assembly to the bike.
No need to disconnect any hydraulics.
Remove the cotter pin holding the rear brake master cylinder rod.
Remove the rod.
Remove the U shaped adjusting arm.
Do not remove the two brake rod nuts
Take a grinder (I used a drill with a grinding wheel) and grind off 1/4" of the rod. This is about all of the half threads.
Run the two nuts back down to repair any goobered up threads from your grinding.
Reposition the brake rod to the middle setting.
Reinstall everything.
Adjust the brake light switch, which may require bending the spring.
Go for a ride!

If you want to go back to the original position, can you do that after grinding the rod down?

as I recall yes, the original bolt position was above the 1/4 tapered section that was removed.  If you are worried there are always rods on ebay.

MCL instructions just said  " adjust the nut that is behind the peg holding casting.  ....   The brake will not come down all the way without grinding the adjusting bold which is not recommended". 

 

There is a small 10mm bolt behind the casting which I have loosened but does not seem to give any play for adjustment.  I have read of other problems with brakes locking up after installing the pegs so I am inclined to take them at their word that grinding the bolt is not recommended.
