which bike for ERC

I am up for an ERC on Sunday. Just trying to decide if I should take the Connie or Bandit.    :-\ :-\ ???

Although I only have the one bike, you see a picture of me on the ERC in my signature.  My SO snapped me practicing before she hopped on at certain times.

If you ride two-up, you should consider having your SO along so they see what you are learning. And, you are encouraged to have them take the course with you so you both can tell what is going on.  Practice with your SO on the cycle so you know what to do when the real world reaches out for you.  :)

I think I would do it on the Connie. It is heavier handling than the Bandit and what you learn on the heavier bike will surely transfer to the lighter one. I just took it on the FJR and I would like to go back and take it with my wife because that is how I ride most often.

I took my Yamaha, but if I was to get the most out of the training, I should have rode it two up...  maybe next time

I took a ERC yesterday. It was a good experience at least. Out of 20 bikes there, 15 were HDs. Had one Victory, one '99 C10, one FJR, one Wing, and my beautiful Connie. It rained all afternoon and that of course was when we were out on the range.

I have done it on my V65 Sabre.  The cones were challenging until I figured out the timing.  Other than that, it was fun outhandling all the 600cc things.  Having said that, I would use the Bandit.

Yep, that’s what they always told us in the Army and it always was.  :D

In one of the exercises they wanted us to lock up the rear tire in the rain. Um, sorry ABS. I had the shortest stopping distances by far.

Well I took my Connie and we made it through again. Once more our nemesis, the box, made things difficult and not trusting the big girl I put my foot down. Other than that foible she made me look good. We had the second fastest time through the 130 degree curve and we topped the speed clock on the fast stop.

This time through the ERC there was a good cross section of bikes, ZX10R, Strom 650, GW1500, Vstar, Sportster and my Concours.
