Found Cir Clip
« on: April 28, 2013, 10:22:08 AM »

I have a new 2014 C14, and have added a number of accessories to it over the past month. Took the bike to the dealer for the first oil change and returned with a new set of Denali D2 LED lights to install. Removed the previous(less expensive) lights I had mounted on the bracket for the fender reflector and looked down to the previously clean and swept garage and there directly below the forks on the right side is a 3/16th(apx. don't know the metric size) cir clip on the floor. Can't figure out where it came from but it didn't come off either the new or the old lights.  Called the dealer, who is a fantastic mechanic, and he couldn't think where it came from either. He checked the service manual and can't see where it would have come from. Any ideas????  I don't want something important to fall off.

Could it be the one that snaps into the fender on both left and right side to hold the brake line.  Post a picture.

Wrong kind of clip that you are referring to. I mean one of those 3/4 circle metal clips used to retain a bolt or metal pin that slip on and rest in a grove in the bolt. Thanks.

Are you talking about an "E" clip? If so it could have popped off of anything. Those babies can travel.

Found the source of the clip. It moved all the way from the back of the bike and apparently lodged in the front fairing to fall out later.

To answer two questions at once, yes it was the rear foot peg. The front pegs have E clips also but twice as large diameter and no it's not a 2014, that was a major typo, my bike is a new 2012.
