I'm cheap so I have a JC whitney box, http://www.jcwhitney.com/motorcycle-travel-trunks/p2010969.jcwx.  Cost me about 80 shipped.  I bolted it down to the original luggage rack though becuase they have been known to flop around and break.  Dad and I actually put LED's in it though for turn signals and brake lights.  Does its job very well.

Can also be had for $45 shipped:

“And I to my motorcycle. Parked like the soul of the junkyard restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off up Highway 106, continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed. Wild to be wreckage forever”

I've been very happy with this trunk:

http://www.mutazu.com/products.php?cat_id=2&menu=DB%20Trunk%20Series&product_id=21&s=prod.php

The spoiler has LED lights that chase from the middle to the ends when the running lights are on, and the spoiler LEDs all light up when the brake is applied.  The two lenses below the spoiler are turn signals.  Really improves the visibility of the bike from the rear, especially at night.

I have the larger one.  Do a google search for Motorcycle Trunk With Spoiler to find some good deals on these.
