Mirror Rattle
« on: May 15, 2011, 08:29:12 AM »
I just started noticing a slight rattle coming from my left mirror.  At first, I thought it may be a loose 10mm adjustment nut but actually the rattle is from the glass.  Possibly became unglued or detached from the base.  Has anyone disassembled the housing the glass mirror sits in?  I also would like to tuck in the rubber boot  into the mirror housing.

Thx

I believe I found the cause, a clear caulk has become brittle and has fallen off from around the seating point of the mirror.  I will do some research on replacing the dried up caulk.

When this rattle happened to me, I ran a small bead of silastic around the edge of the glass and secured the glass to the black trim.
