New Shinko rear for C10
« on: February 23, 2020, 05:59:36 PM »
Am looking at replacing a Metzler rear tire with a Shinko.  Will be either a 777 Journey or a 011 Verge both in 150/80ZR-16.

Any thoughts or ideas on the relative merits of either one.

I live in Kansas so there is not a lot of canyon carving but I do like to do sport riding when I get the chance.
Little wheel turns by the fire and the rod.
Big wheel turns by the grace of god.
Every time that wheel comes round,
'Bound to cover just a little more ground.

I’ve been using 777s for several years. No surprises
or disappointments at all. I do a lot of highway
commuting and usually get 12K miles per tire.
Not bad performance from a tire that costs
less than $100.

Same here. Been using 777 and 011 combo for a few years and they have worked well for me. The 777 seems to have a lot of meat so has been long lasting on my bike. The 011 are not that meaty but good nonetheless. My riding is mostly easy hwys and congested, slow city rides.

Good economical tires. You can try them and see. Don't expect too much.
