New owner from Hayward Ca.
« on: March 12, 2014, 09:31:25 AM »
I already own a 2004 GoldWing and a 2001 FZ1. So far the Goldwing is the only bike the wife would ride on so I have been trying to talk her into something a little smaller. She agreed to try the concours so without hesitation I found a 2010 with 30k miles that i paid $6600 for $7500 once all taxes and licensing was complete.

It came with the original seat and no type of backrest so I will have to figure that one out quickly. I know Corbin makes some nice stuff including a rear box with pad and arm rest for passenger.  I brought the bike home and changed all fluids yesterday then did about 110 miles mixed freeway and twisties. So far I am really enjoying the bike. I am 6'2" 240 and the bike seems to fit me very well.

I did have one mishap already, the left trunk lid popped open in the twisties, and the top scraped the ground in a left hander before I realized it was open. Took a small gouge out of the top of the lid, that was very upsetting. Anyway I guess I learned to make sure they are locked and fully seated before riding.

Well that is my story and i look forward to browsing this site and picking up on some information and sharing some as well.

Thanks for the hello's, I notice a few local riders on here. I belong to the Oakland Motorcycle Club we do rides and events all year long. Have our own clubhall, we have Wednesday night meetings. If interested in visiting club and talking with like minded riders please contact us or stop on by. Our website is Oaklandmc.org

Nice! I have to admit, this is not the type of people I thought I'd see if I looked up an Oakland MC.  :finger_fing11:

MrPepsi we get that all the time, I have heard it said more then once that OMC stands for Old Mans Club. What are you going to do when your organization has been around for 107 years.  8)

I do believe that photo is from a Baja trip into Mexico that the club does once a year in January. Sadly it is one my job has not given me the free time to go on. Typically a 2-3 week trip.
