Valve Adjust spreadsheet (Found on net but awesome)
« on: August 19, 2011, 10:19:11 AM »
Was surfing around and came across this VERY detailed spreadsheet for mapping the valves on a C-14.  Has a tab that lists all the shim sizes and a tab for MM and a tab for Inches

I cannot take credit for this as it was created by Kory on the ZZR forums....

Thanks for posting this file.  I have seen postings of handwritten shim notes that looked very intimidating.  This spreadsheet will be helpful when time comes for me to adjust the valves.

Damn. That looks amazingly like the one I did. Someone added the shim sizes to it. I also added a second page for the specs after re-shimming for comparison.

Holy smokes, that's my spreadsheet!   :o   8)

Your search must have lead you to the zzrbikes.com site.   ;)

I hope people get some use out of it.  I created it to do my valves, then I did my dad's C14 with it as well.  I'm about due for a second check on mine, hopefully no adjustments will be necessary this time.  I'm pretty sure I adjusted every single shim on mine and dad's the first time through.

I made it a while ago, probably looked at several others before I created it.  Then I made one personalized for me.

KLB you are correct, I came across it on the ZZR forum and it was just too detailed to not share with the rest of Cogdom :)   In the spring I will prob be tackeling my valves and will use this.

Hoping that I don't grenade my motor LOL

Awesome! This is another tool that will make me more likely that I will do the valve adjustment myself when it is due.

I had some spare time, so I have updated it so that you now only need to enter 2 values. The Existing Shim Size, which is now selected from a drop-down box, and the Measured Clearance. Everything else is calculated for you. Hopefully this will make it easier to use and help to eliminate errors.

Nicely done, Jonathan!

I didn't share it with the masses because I didn't want anyone blaming me for exploding engines.

Now we can all blame Jonathan.   ;D

Wonder if we can get one of the forum admins to sticky this!
