Chinese knock off levers
« on: November 30, 2020, 12:54:42 AM »
So I read the old 2011 thread about the chinese knock off levers http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=1227.msg13134#msg13134
Where a heap of the guys said that the levers were great on the C10, now that it has been awhile I'm just wondering what issues might have arisen from using them. I just bought a set of shorty levers and I'm a bit concerned that the pivot pin hole doesn't have any bushing.
So if any of the OP's are still here and still have these levers I'd love to hear from you.

I'm not sure that the shorty levers will give you enough leverage for a decent emergency stop on the C10.
I tried some on mine and took them straight off. SCARY!

I've had aftermarket levers on mine since forever and they are fine if you make certain that they are not binding.
I had one set fail when the span adjustment mechanism fell apart but the rest only got replaced once the coating wore off and they looked crap.

If yours doesn't have a pivot bushing, I guess it depends on what they are made of.
Mine have all had a brass/bronze bushing but many of the aluminium ones don't.
