Title: "Baffle-ectomy" Tool.
Post by: Tele130 on April 26, 2012, 09:44:25 AM
I'm goina go out on a limb here and offer to "LEND" my Baffle-ectomy Tool set-up to want one who wishes to do this.  It consists of a 1 1/8" Milwaukee hole saw bit with a Milwaukee 12" extension and the allen wrench.

(http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj287/Rexrated/IMG_0549.jpg)

Here's how I'd like to do it;

1). Post up your request here.  First five requests.
2). I'll send it to the first one on the list.
2). That person will be responsible for sending it to the second guy and so on.  Each person that uses it will be responsible for the postage to send it to the next person.  If you receive it in a "Non-Serviceable" condition please notify me ASAP.
3). The fifth guy will send it back to me.  I'll look it over and make sure it's serviceable.  If there are more guys in line we'll repeat the process.

Please be aware that this is not a cheap Harbor Fright $6.00 set-up.  Total cost was $21.70.  So all I ask is that you use it as if it was yours.  Sound fair?

I am new to this bike- what's with the baffles and flies, etc.? I'm baffled too, so I guess I need a baffle-ectomy also! Does it hurt worse than a 'roid-ectomy?

Nothing needs to be changed. It's just sound. There may be a slight change in back pressure which could change throttle response but I haven't noticed any difference. I have been a little heaiver on the throttle (because of the sound) but that's about it. If your looking for real performance enhancement, contact "Steve in Sunny Fla".

I have heard that you can get a .002% HP gain by doing the baffelectomy and installing block-off plates.  I have not personally put my bike on a dyno; but that sounds about right  :chugbeer:

I'm sure that we can make that work for you.

Question......with no pilot bit, does the piece come out in the drill? Do you fish it out or just leave it in there.

It remains as part of the exhaust system. So far I haven't noticed it and I doubt I ever will.

Unless your batteries are really old, just one should do the job.   ;D

Though I have an old Ryobi battery that wouldn't...  And another that might barely...

 3 mules and 2 oxen left Jacksonville today with the tool in a new box.  I am told the address it is going to is so far out in the sticks they will have to resupply at the end of your street before the final leg.  I have the tracking number for the tube if you don't get it in a timely manner..
