I don't see the C14 listed on their site. Was hoping to look at picks before deciding.

Okay, I may be hooked. Will there be any tuning required to run these? Is there any difference between the Tri-oval and Round other than looks?

Is this just 100+ dollars spent to get rid of the ugly can, or is there actually a performance gain?  I will be honest, the price is too good to pass up, but is it worth it? It is difficult for me to tell based on reviews, and the few videos I have seen.

Ug.

Like most all muffler replacements when not replacing the headers and/or pipes and/or cat removal, it is cosmetic, weight reduction, and noise amplification/alteration.  Anything else is negligible and/or placebo.

Not that there's any thing wrong with that.

Howdy,

For some of you that are interested this is the description on the one I bought.

•  Delkevic 18" oval silencers are made from high grade 304 Stainless Steel and polished to a mirror finish. With all hand welded parts and careful attention to detail they are superior in both looks and sound to the factory silencer.
•  This is a 5 piece set - 1 Link Pipe, 1 Silencer, 1 Strap and 2 Clamps.
•  The silencer can is 18" / 450mm in length.
•  The weight of the silencer is 5.85 lb / 2.660 kg.
•  All Delkevic silencers have a 12-Month Guarantee.

Waiting for it to come thru the mail/UPS I think.
Hope to have it by this weekend so I can install Tuesday or Wednesday.
I plan on putting it on trying it then removing it to paint or powder coat black.

I got the Tri-oval carbon baffle which knocks off 14 pounds. The quality is alright, not top notch, but good for the price. I removed the inner cone thing to give it some more noise. The sound is great! Just enough to hear the RPM's until the wind noise takes over at speed. I did Dyno the bike after I put it on but I don't think the numbers are right. The peak HP was 146 (STD) calculation,  but I didn't do torque and rpm. The calculation was STD not SAE, so I think the HP is around 5% higher than SAE.  A mechanic friend and I were guessing it may have added a few HP, possibly as much as 5hp. I was going to post a review but figure now it's not really needed. Just a few comments and photos about it. I definitely recommend this slip-on. At $180 this is a bargain. I think a Two Brothers is over $400.

Gone through two tanks of gas so far since putting my pipe on and am seeing almost 10% increase in gas mileage.

Makes sense, less weight, more hp, same commuting. Less gas needed to get it done. Heck, at that rate the pipe will pay for itself in about 18,000 miles!

I'm really tempted to jump on this -- The price seems right, and I HATE the look of the stock muffler.

That said though, I am rather mechanically, ah challenged.

Is installing this as easy as removing the bolt on the pipe at the cat converter, and the bracket, and replacing them with the new pipe/can?

Thanks,  -Jeff

Jeff, if you have Allen wrenches and 30 minutes this can be done easily.  As jobs go it is oil change easy in fact Delkevic doesn't even send instructions, You will need a stainless steel 3/8 bolt with a lock washer and a nut (about a buck) to do the job.  Heck, get to know your bike and don't tighten the joints too hard until they are all lined up and it is where you want it, then tighten them all up good and snug.  A word of advice, there are three mounting points on the stock can and only two on the Delkevic and the rubber bumper from the stocker comes out and you can re-install it in the center stand hole.

Is it worth it to just change the pipe?  I'm considering a complete piping -cat...  or this and a reflash

Ordered mine earlier today, and it will be shipping tomorrow.

It was a bit of a challenge getting thru, but I did get a call back fairly quick, and was able to get in on the deal.

(They were quite busy today, but that's a good thing.)

Now the wait for UPS, sigh.

Thanks everyone for the advice and info in the thread.  It was very helpful!

Kawasaki ZG1400 Concours 08-12 Stainless Steel 17" Tri-Oval EXHAUST Muffler

What an elegant solution to the potatoe launcher. Super easy to install.
I was concern when gpink mentioned the possibly that the Delkevic exhaust/muffler might be less than legal.
I took a dp reading of the launcher before changing it for the 17" Tri-Oval,
The launcher was 78 db at idle, the Delkevic exhaust/muffler was 72 db at idle.
Rode most of he week and the sound is smooth and no louder than the launcher, I am very happy as I was hoping it would not be louder than the original.
Thanks to the lady's at Delkevic.

J.

Grrrrr!  I was thinking about this exhaust for a while and just stumbled upon this group buy today after the cut off date!  Just sent them a message - here's to hoping for a break.  That's what I get taking too long to get out of hibernation mode.

Well, I received it today, and installed it this evening.

A couple of thoughts -- First, I didn't need the bolt/washer/nut that I bought.  It came with everything, including an extra rubber cover for the clamp.

It also came with the rubber plug for the center stand "bumper".

It definitely took more than 30 minutes.  Given a bunch of trips to and from the toolbox to get more stuff, it took about an hour.

Part of that was that I had to remove the Canyon Cage rear crash guard.  It completely covered the bolt that the new clamp attached to.

The tip about having one more bolt to remove than is replaced was quite helpful!

Anyway, I fired her up, and really like the new sound.

Thanks all for the advice and help.  And hats off to the fine folks at Delkevic!

Jeff

Well I missed out on the group buy, but the staff at Delkevic were very friendly and still gave me a break, though not as good as the group buy, but still showed they care.

The can went on pretty easily, looks and sounds great!
