Ten Day, 2000 mile trip on a rented 2010 C14
« on: September 15, 2012, 07:59:32 AM »

My brother and his wife are avid motorcyclists. Tom's everyday ride is a 2004 BMW 1150RT.  He and I have had bikes since we were in our teens, and that was a LONG time ago.  He's tried my 2010 C14 several times and decided he might want to spend some additional time on one.  So they rented a 2010 C14 and set out on an extended ride.  He wrote up his impressions of the bike in this blog:

This isn't about the trip.  It's about the bike.  He's a pretty observant guy, and doesn't reach conclusions without careful consideration. With the exception of NOT having an issue with the stock seat (good for him), I think he's hit all the common observations.

If you make it all the way to the end of the write-up, there is an unexpected and abrupt end to their ride.  Thankfully, there were no injuries, but the bike went home on a trailer.

Excellent read!  He touched on most of the points I had when I first got mine.  Also good to hear the ending turned out as well as it did.  Thanks for posting.  :)

Good read and honest evaluation, and also good it "isn't" a BMW in some respects. ;)

What a great write up on this bike, it should be sent to Kawasaki. Although I disagree about the looks of the bike, as I think the black ones are the coolest looking bikes on the road, he is absolutely correct about the handle bars.

I know the feeling of watching the tire pressure read out drop to zero, glad you kept the bike upright.
