Long time since I posted here. Been busy with life, but still riding the C14. However, been thinking hard to 'downsize' in terms of height and weight. Max I ride these days is a 200 mile loop.
Saw a nice 2018 R1200 RS on local BMW dealer. Very nicely setup with the R1200R bars (wider) and some risers (plus some other stuff). If they give me a decent trade on my C14 (taking it there this Tuesday), I will pull the trigger.

You’re gonna miss that power...
BMW’s have a lot of cool gadgets, make SURE you get an extended warranty cuz if something goes wrong...(and they do)
The Connie is so easy to work on, cheaper to maintain, plus you already own it. (Guessing)
Add some helibar horizons for the cost of a bike payment ($600) and it will make the Connie ridiculously comfortable.
Connie is much sexier, BMWs are boring.
Sometimes, though, you just HAVE to get something new...
It’s a BMW dealership, you’re gonna get HOSED on a trade-in. Keep the Connie AND get the Beemer!

TBH, if you need to ask then you don't need the Beemer, or any Beemer for that matter ;)

Not particularly partial to beemers. Looked at a Tracer 900. It fits what I am looking for as well. The Beemer seemed a bit more road oriented and more power. Neither can hold a candle to the c14 engine. I will miss the smoothness of it but not so much the power. Also looked at some cruiser types - Indian, HD, moto guzzi. Beautiful bikes but .... anyway, like I said trying to go for something shorter or lighter (or both)

I owned both a C14 and own a 2017 RS. Have since replaced the C14 with a K16GT.
I really like the RS. I ride it the majority of the time. Compared to the C14 you will appreciate the lighter weight. It does handle better, and is more enjoyable in the twisties. Great torque, and good overall power. With the torque and better handling it is decidedly faster in the corners than my C14 was. The C14 owns the big end.
Features you can't get on a C14, which I like.
It's a great bike, I love mine. Depends on what kind of riding you want to do, etc.

Well.....I am keeping my C14.
Guy not far from me was selling his 2012 v rod. Impractical has heck, but beautiful to look at. So yeah - now have a cruiser....
