1109 buildup pix - a blast from the past!

Here's some pix of my original 1109 top end buildup that I just happened to find. The cylinder block is a zx11 block with the cam chain channel cut off and the connie zg1000 channel welded on, then it was de-jugged, decked top and bottom, re-jugged, and bored +2mm for 1109 cc's. It's +4mm over a zg1000 bore. The head work is high velocity ported, with the ports filled with epoxy to raise and narrow the ports for midrange. A subsequent dyno run with the first 2 minute mod jetting netter 117 RWHP @ 9300 rpm. Enjoy! Steve

Got any photos of the chain case weldup? I think that is one of the more interesting things that most guys would not consider doing to make this work. Part of your mad scientist personality :hail:

Awesome album Steve!
The welding is outstanding!
What is the benefit of the springless carbs?

It's using metered air to control the slides as opposed to using a spring. That way I can more easily make changes to the slide reaction, thus making carbs that are much more responsive and balanced, one to another. Steve
