Fuel level sensor hose
« on: June 05, 2016, 04:16:13 PM »
Getting my bike cleaned up and getting ready to ride for the first time in a long time. The hose that comes from the fuel level senor, is it routed someplace? I think it is but I pulled the tank off and am not sure where it goes.

I think it may be open to atmosphere and the line goes down to the bottom clip, behind and down from the rear of the tank. But someone will chime in with the confirmed routing.

now that jim has made this fool proof.

I had a question...why does the fuel level sensor vent fuel? We already have a tank vent.

It's not a vent.  It's there just in case the fuel level sensor springs a leak.  The thingy the hose attaches too is just a plastic tray under the sensor.

it was a CYA add on, just in case of a leak, it would drip into the collector, and drain away from the hot engine, and ont the ground.... and hot pipe....

I've never seen a leaker in my time, and my first C was in early '03.

like i say, it was just a thing they did, for just in case stuff..
