Season 4 starts tonight.
-
I hear they will be riding Honda STs, they quit drinking, and have started wearing bright yellow vests 8)

There goes the neighborhood!
Will they be starting a sewing circle and calling themselves the Sons of Mild Disorder?
-
How can they be sons of anarchy? They belong to an organization with rules, regulations and a form of a governmental body in which they elect club officers....ironic, no?
And IMO the show sucks. A night time dope(soap) opera.
YMMV
-
From the commercials, I don't see the appeal. Also, looks like it doesn't help our reputation as riders.

That's trus, so what ever you do, don't watch it.

You had better stick with Dancing With The Stars.
And besides, they're the SONS of anarchy. Who listens to their parents these days?

Sounds good. 8)
-
I hear they will be running the re election bid for an un named president, they'll be busy visiting neighborhoods hanging curtains and cooking up some tasty meals 8)
They gave up knitting, seems they were worried the sharp pointing things may be dangerous :o

It's so far from real I seriously doubt they hurt our reputation, it is a form of entertainment and they do have some interesting characters, which for me make it worth space on the DVR.You had better stick with Dancing With The Stars.
Isnt that porn? I would never waste space on that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure its that unrealistic. Their are a couple of gangs in this area.......definitely some illegal stuff going on. I work with a guy who's pledging one of the more tame groups....even his group is on the cops' list. The other two, according to him, are defintely involved in some illegal "stuff". I honestly didn't know that this kind of crud still happened. Anyway I am no means an expert on the subject, I guess I just prefer good over evil........
-
No doubt there are some illegal activities, but the depth this show goes? Watch it a couple of times, see if the plots/characters dont get you a little interested, it does beat the heck outa DWTS or the biggest loser, but not as good as top shot!

It's not always easy to tell the difference.
Back when SoA first came out I watched a couple of the eps from the middle of the season and I didn't like the show at all. My neighbor and I were talking and this show came up. She said that I really needed to watch it from the beginning and if I did I would like it. She lent me her season 1 DVDs and she was right. I've been watching ever since.
-
Of course I kid.......but seriously, I guess I'll have to check it out.
-
I just got back from a long weekend of working, hunting, and dual sporting, I have recaps of seasons 1-3 on the DVR, I would bet they will have replays, it may give you a view of the show, as Conrad said, just coming into the show it isnt all that good, understanding the plots, twists, and peculiarities makes it good.
-
Yeah, there's way more than just some 1%ers riding around on sanitized HDs.
-
Thanks, Conrad. It is going to be DVR'd tonight.
-
Wasnt too shabby, I was hoping for a little more lead in as to whos who, but they sure started things off with a bang! With the new AUSA setting up camp things should take a few new spins.
-
I have a college friend who I recently found on Facebook. During the time since I saw him last (30 years), he said he became very involved with a club such as this. He says it is "scary" how accurate this show is. Like the writers had inside guys. I have never found out how he got out of the club, I still need to ask him about it someday.

I DVR'd last years season ender and watched that last night. I wanted to refresh my memory. I watched about half of the new before getting sleepy and hitting the hey. So far so good.

Sopranos didn't help our family either ;)
-
Yeah, "Hogan's Heroes" didn't help my family either. ;D
-
Yeah.......Beverly Hillbillies didn't help my family either......ok not really.
-
It was fine for a return season.
I don't know why I didn't really remember the end of last season.
Other than the Fed woman's outcome.
I remembered that part. :)
-

The producer (Katey Sagal's real life husband who plays Otto) spent time with the Hell's Angels while doing the research and developement for the show. Also the reason they were able to get Sonny Barger to play a part (although a small one).
-
Off Topic but as some of y'all know that I made a very hard choice to walk away from several friendships a while back because a friend was trying too hard to have our riding group emulate SOA as well as have associations with not only HA but AN too. This Sunday I'll be getting back together with a couple of friends who have realized that the club was not worth its cost, Truth be known 8 of the original 10 members of the riding group have pulled away and the club is all but history. The so called Pres of this club was so nutz about SOA that he all but stated that watching it was compulsory.
-
Tony,
I hope that it doesn't sound like I'm sticking my nose into your business but you brought it up, so...
Emulate SOA in what way, as in illegal activities and such?
Sounds like the Pres has some mental issues to me, anyone we know on this board? :rotflmao:
-
SOA is a TV soap opera with a biker gang slant. Anyone wanting to emulate that in real life.....
We just watched the opener last night and while it was an hour and a half long I think it was over a half hour in commercials. Thank goodness we have fast forward.
We like it for what it is and nothing more. We enjoy the characters and the crazy plot lines. Got surprised again by the ending. It drives us insane trying to figure out what they will do next. It's kinda like this forum.... ;)

LOTS of Hardly commercials! SERIOUSLY stupid HD commercials too IMO. HD needs a new ad company.

So, that makes us what, the Sons of COG? 8) Yep, SOC it is ;D

The design of the club patch was as close to SOA without being a blantant copy as it could be; even used a 3 piece rocker which is a real no no around real biker groups. Even went so far as to make up patches with 1% ers on it too. Found out that he was taking testro shots and noticed that he was becoming more aggressive so ya I'd say he was having some mental issues.

Well in viewing this thread, and never watching the show, I pulled a couple up on the laptop. Holy crap that show sucks. I am amazed at how some of these things even get started, let alone how it can be in its 4th yr.
I won't be waisting anymore time on this show, give me Mash reruns anyday.
My $.02, enjoy. ;)
Ride safe all, and ATGATT please.
Greg
-
Well its a heck of a lot better than Glee.
-
The first show was sick. Man, they wiped out a bunch of folks and one of them I think was undercover. It's gonna get real interesting real quick.
-
Well its a heck of a lot better than Glee.
So is having a tooth pulled without anesthetic.

Well I think Glee is pretty incredible, I like to shoot my .45, and my wife rocks my world..........just sayin'.

I don't know what eps you watched Greg but as I said earlier in this thread, I thought that the show sucked too when I watched a couple of eps from the middle of the first season. When I watched from the very start I changed my tune.

It isn't very often you can take a look at one or two episodes in what I call an episodic series and know or understand whats going on unless you watch it all. Sometimes if you do you just hit certain episodes that are really just a lull in the action.

That's right, and without some character development you're lost.
-
:offtopic: I hate to hijack this intriguing thread but Babylon 5 was like that. You couldn't come in the middle of the series and know what the heck was going on.
Ok, back to SOA....
-
The crazy preacher from Deadwood is in the new season.

And, he showed up on an episode of Babylon 5, too. ;D

Thanks Mike, it has been bugging me where I had seen him before.

Children of Anarchy 1979

what the...?
I must have missed something?
-
Nope. Go on about your business. Nothing to see here.

Yes Obi Wan, going about my business, nothing to see here...

Good boy, have a cookie.

So, another revival!! Who else caught the season ending show last night? Another game changer for sure. Best season yet in my opinion.
-
I watched it. I've watched all of the episodes. They've really "modified" the cast lately. Just when you think they got a good thing going, something out of left field comes along.
-
It's on my DVR, haven't watched it yet.
-
+1
-
I thought that you quit watching, Jim?
-
I did, however my wife likes it and I am forced to watch it as well here lately. We saved up about 5 episodes before the season ending episode last night. We've watched those and will find some time to watch it at some point. I really don't care for it that much any more. I much prefer to watch American Horror Story - Coven. It's more violent and has the same number of sex scenes plus there's witches and magic involved.

That's good stuff, we watch it too.

I'm just glad they brought it back to life from the crappy second season. Season two started out good, but was a load of dog crap by the end.
-
We watched the SOA season ender last night.
WoW :o
And geeze, what's with all of these grown men hugging and crying. "I love you brother" :'( ;)
-
It was epic, as was the mid season ending of Walking Dead.
Wow what a season.

It was almost like he was retiring, or something ;)
-
I'm pretty sure it's the 'or something' option. :)
6 more days.
-
Just bugs me some of the things Jax is capable of, the trannies mother comes to mind, but yet he was willing to make the sacrafice to protect "her" in the finale. Doesn't seem like the same person sometimes.

See what love does. He should have known better, having a psycho mom and all, just saying. Hear we gotta wait two years for season seven, supposed to go back to the beginning when the club started.
-
Link to that season 7 info?
-
I saw it on a friends facebook when I was over at his place. He's a real SOA freak, but it's on facebook so I don't recall if it was their official page.
Sorry
-
Everything I search says its returning next fall.
-
Yep, that's what I see as well. I guess what they were talking about is a spin off/ prequel in two years dated to the original nine. Sorry, man for the confusion.
-
I must admit that SOA is a guilty pleasure of mine. :D

Hey Poke!
How you doin?
-
We watched the SOA season ender last night.
I just "binge watched" the entire season over the last couple of days.
Are they planning a crossover episode with HBO? Sons of Thrones or Game of Anarchy. Holy crap that was a bloody season.
-
Hey Poke!
How you doin?
Doing great Conrad, life is good. Sucks that Jim never made it over here this year, and I have yet to meet you. :(
-
Yep, totally bummed as well. First time in years, I haven't gone out to Ohio.
-

You're right, life is good! I'm looking farward to meeting both you and Jim sometime in the next year. :)
-
We ought to meet at Poke's house and eat all his food and drink all his beer, then ride around Ohio some...

That sounds like a good plan! Especially since I know that Poke doesn't have any Coors in his fridge. ;)
-
-
I've never watched it, no appeal to me from the ads I see for it, and no, I don't watch the other shows either that folks say that its better than, for the same reasons. The guys at work have tried to get me to watch some of these cable shows, Game of Thrones, East Bound and Down, Deadwood, etc... Lasted about 5 minutes on each, sorry, does nothing for me. Different things for different folks. I'll pass.
-

Nothing but the good stuff here, and the riding is pretty sweet as well.
-
Finally watched the season ender last night. Totally bummed me out. The only thing that helped was the interview with Kurt Sutter, Katy Sagal, and Maggie Siff. Thank goodness she's still alive. The stress level that this show provides is totally unbearable to me. My wife likes it, though. I told her I wasn't watching it anymore. We'll see what happens when it comes back on this Fall....
-
Who's still alive?
-
It sounds like you cover your eyes with your hands and peek between your fingers Jim....?
;D

That's exactly what I did between mutterings of 'OMG!'
Who's still alive?
Maggie Siff (aka Tara)
-
Only on the outside. On the inside she is 6 ft under. Man, what are they going to do next year. Supposedly their final year.
-
There was mention of a spinoff right?
I had no friggin clue Otto was the shows creator.
-
I need to find all the episodes from this past season, I was caught up through the end of 5. :(
-
Based on what I saw last night, death and destruction will prevail in the last season. We have to figure out who's going to survive. I'm thinking everyone is going to get wiped out.
-
Kinda like Inglorious basterds where pretty much everyone got wiped out in the bar scene.
The spinoff I have heard about was talking about a pre-sequal where it is about the early days.
