Title: Damn That !@#$%^& Centerstand (by Elvin Rivera)
Post by: elvin315 on May 17, 2011, 07:24:54 PM
Getting your Concours up on the centerstand isn't the near impossible procedure many say it is. It's all a matter of technique.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT WITH YOUR ARM OR BACK! The trick is to push down with your right leg while you resist with your right arm. It's like lifting a heavy box off the floor. Back straight and lift with your legs. Once that heavy bike starts to move momentum will do the rest.

Practice with the sidestand down and a friend spotting on the right side of the bike. The stand will prevent it from falling on its left and your spotter will keep it from falling on its right. With practice you'll wonder what all the trouble was.

I'm not saying it's easy, but it's easier than you think. Here's a video demonstrating the technique. (Start at 3:10. That's when he gets to the actual Demo.) Turn your volume down. It begins with a revving engine.
