In it's early development, you can see why they have been so quiet, it will be another Busa beater for sure.

Maybe it will beat the new BMW litre leaner in a straight line?

If its some real epic, i may have to purchase a second Zx14 in this lifetime.  My 1st one was a POS, but my Connie is awesome, make my next Kawi will be "ok"  ;D

There are a couple other threads already going about this topic in the "Other Bikes" and "Off Topic" sections:

I read in a mag the other day they are working on a supercharged version ZX-15 or something like that.

I hope this one is supercharged but from everything I have been reading it will be a 1440 cc screamer.  Kawi has a supercharged 1500 cc PWC that makes around 250 hp so they know how to use the technology.

Speeds for motorcycles being limited to 186 mph seems like a waste of the extra power, will get there quicker, but once there...then what?

Modifications have to occur to modify the electronics to allow it to pass the 186 barrier.....wonder what the price will be?

Maybe some of the technology on the C-14 will be incorporated into the new bike...we shall see shortly.....

Really?  Waste of extra power?  An extra 10mph is just a number on the gauge.  Most folks wouldn't know if they were going 180 or 200 if they didn't have a speedometer.  But acceleration you can feel.

I've studied everything I can on the new ZX.  There is no concrete information but here is what I think based upon what I can find.  I think it will have a 1440 cc approx (I think 1432 is the number going around), and it will have all the electronics of the ZX10R, and if we are lucky it might even have the ECO mode from the Concours.  This would give it traction control, wheelie control and ABS (ABS likely to be optional).  I don't expect an all new chassis but probably some upgrades to the suspension components.

We'll know for sure next Monday

I'm thinking waste of power too IF traction control has to kick in to make it usable.  Because it will have this. Not Concours 14 tc, more like zx10r tc.

I'm hoping this new bike is really something. It will be good for motorcycling, and the future of the crappy economy, if Kawi dropped big bucks developing it.

I read that its going to be jet powered, and that the new version of KIPASS on this model will allow you to communicate with similar models in eastern european countries while automatically sending orders to your local pizza joint.

I'm not too fussed about what might or might not happen. But the concept of a Supercharged bike makes a lot of sense to me. The possible outcomes are endless

Smaller Engine, Same Power, Less weight = Same Performance
Same Engine, More Power, Same Weight = Acceleration (everyone seems to want)
Same Engine, Same Power, Same Weight = Better MPG
and on, and on, and on...

Seems logical to me, cars have been using them for years. Obviously the same goes for Turbos, but I really think Superchargers make more sense in power delivery for a bike than does a Turbo.

A properly sized and tuned turbo motor can deliver imperceptible lag and the greatest thing it that there is no parasitic loss like with a belt driven supercharger.  I am a huge fan of FI, I don't know know why there hasn't been more bikes produced with it to reap all the benefits that you stated.
