Title: I joined today...
Post by: Mike G on May 09, 2012, 10:39:33 AM
Coming down the off ramp today, fourth in line to turn right on red.  First guy looks left and goes, 2nd looks and goes, 3rd looks and goes, I look and go BUT third guy DIDN'T GO!!  He stopped about half-way so I grab the front brake leaned over for the turn and down I go.  I tried to pick it up by the bars (yeah, right!)  then I turned around with my butt against the seat and grabbed the handlebar and grab handle and it came up suprisingly easy.  I flipped the side-stand down, jumped on and off to work I go.  Small scuff on the mirror and front corner of the bag was the only damage.  Guess I don't have to worry THAT anymore.

Thanks Conrad and ZG, coulda been worse.  At least the antler didn't crack and now I know it's not that big a deal to pick it up.  Hope I never have to do it again though.

Bummer! But sounds like not too much damage.

Good thing you didn't lose a mirror like my first C14 did!

I bought the MCE bars when they first came out for our bikes and haven't ever gotten to use them since....it's almost like they're protecting me from even going down.  ;D

It's a variation on Murphy's law.

The surest way to never drop your bike is to buy some tip over protection.
