Anyone admit to wearing one? :rotflmao:. I have a really nice Nolan N103 modular helmet. But I find that I ride with it opened almost all the time........................except when it rains ;D. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Bell Mag-9.
Just thought I'd ask.

Full face only!! Felt really great while sliding down the road in Kentucky. ;D Had not planned on doing that and had to buy a new helmet. Full face of course. ATGATT!!

I wear one when the weather allows for it (which isn't often here in the N.W.). I enjoy the fresh air, and am fully aware of the inherent risks of wearing a non full-face lid. No soapboxing please. 8)

I wear a Full Face nearly 100 % the time when riding the Concours or any two wheeled unit but will admit that on really hot days and short hops that I'll grab the 3/4 Nolan that I bought for riding the Ural; that was the helmet I wore 99 % of the time when going on 3 wheels..

I bought a Shark Evoline 2.
It's a modular that the chin piece folds right over the back so can be ridden in fullface or 3/4 mode.
I rarely use it in 3/4 but have tested it up to some pretty high speeds and has no more drag than in fullface mode.
It is a LOT noisier in 3/4 mode though.

I'm going on a solo road trip out West possibliy late July or early August. (Milwaukee to K.C to Boulder CO thru the "Bad Lands" and back East). About a two week trip. I have no problem wearing the N103. Just looking at something different.

Stats say that facial and mandible injuries occur 36% of the time with accidents involving head injuries on motorcycles... no soap box; just saying..of course I wore a 3/4 helmet for years in the 70's and 80's..... :P

I wore a full face for twenty years then went to the bell mag 9 -first gen. Still wear it. been 15 years now. Not the first. Modulars never fit right on my head. I put tint on the face shield for when its up or down for the sun. Love it

Two helmets, a modular/full-face and a 3/4.
The full-face is for the EX250 with its low fairing and lots of air flow.
The 3/4 is for touring behind the Concours windshield, it gets better ventilation in the heat, and in inclement weather, allows you to wipe the inside of the face shield with your left index finger to remove the fog/rain/whatever.
Both have their uses.

Back in the late 70s I rode with a 3/4 helmet. I got hit by a car during bike week in Daytona.
The only way I could eat for the next 4 weeks was if it could be consumed thru a straw. I've still got that old open face helmet to remind me that Helmets are a good idea but I don't want to ride with an open face helmet ever again.

I wore a 3/4 back in the 70's too because fullface Bell Star weighed in like a small bowing ball. I missed on most of the 80's due to a wife who didn't want me to own a bike. First thing I bought after the divorce was a bike and I was amazed how light full face helmets had become. Now they are even better and can really flow some air.
Now I use a Shoei Multitec modular but I'm lusting after one of the new Schuberth C3 Pro in hi-viz yellow!

I think I have worn about every thing made from 3/4 with no face shield to half helmets and even no helmets. After being a fan of the 3/4 for more than a decade I finally broke down and got a full face about 2 yrs ago. Good thing too as I totaled my bike back in March and the full face not only saved my noggin but my face too. Really took some damage where my face would have hit the pavement. Just saying.

I'd prolly feel the same way as I do the same thing frequently with my mod helmet - except I fit a shorty windshield in the summer which reminds me to close the face.
There are risks, sure - but that's a personal choice. We rode with 3/4's for many years back in the 80's-early 90's on a Guzzi California II with a big ol Windjammer faring. Once we moved to Europe in '93, I got into faster machinery and have been a modular guy since, starting with a Bieffe Mod 4, which could also be set up as a 3/4....so.

Just thought I'd ask.
My wife wears an HJC 3/4 that I would borrow in warmer times. Now I have my own HJC IS-BT modular that suits me well. I never ride with the chin bar up though.
She likes the 3/4 so she can get her glasses on and off easily while wearing the helmet.

Me as well, except I have always worn something. I must be a minority though since I too have two helmets but one is a half, other is full face with tinted shield and clear changeouts. I wear the half mostly on hot days, which is rare in the NW.

I'm a firm believer in full face helmets. That's why I still have a face.
