I think it's relevant.  Not everyone here is a member of COG-online.  Why should this event kept a big secret to members of this site?

Your still welcome to come to the national and have a beverage with me, even if you don't like like me because I'm a member of COG! Maybe you'll see again that it's about people and motorcycles rather than politics!  ;)

I like Bob too and drink with him also. The only problem we ever had was when I tried to put my fob in his drink....  wussy.

By the way, the 'fob soaking' drink of choice at the national will be Scotch, 80 proof. We're going to extend the grain alcohol range a bit and stress test the fob seal.

I thought you already did the scotch test at the pizza gathering. Or was that something else?
Title: Re: COG 2011 "Green Mountain" National

Nope, that was beer. One of the rare times I drank beer and only thing because you would not let me put my fob in your beer. It was a Sam Adams as a matter of fact.

Here is the list:

Soda at the fall social event in CT.
Results: The fob worked when completely submerged, and the soda was somehow sweeter or better than it was before putting the fob in there.

Beer at the pizza thing in CT.
Results: The fob worked when completely submerged in beer. The beer tasted about the same as I remember it but I am not a big beer drinker.

Wine at the Spring Fling starting this Thurs:
Results: Unknown but I expect the same stunning performance from KiPass. The wine may be a Riesling or a White Zinfandel.

Scotch at the National in August:
Results: Unknown but at least the fob will have something to fend off that time. It will be a blended, cheap (young) scotch 'cause I don't like expensive (old) scotch. Although I expect the scotch to be somehow better after a good fob soaking.

Fob in water:

Fob in soda:

Cap'n Bob being terrorized by a fob / stove knob key combination (Known as a KiPass one- two):

Yep, the Green mountains are really nice riding. So are the White mountains further up the same state (Moose- mont). The resort where the national is going to be held is also very nice, especially if the official COG fire- maker is there and I hear that he will be in August. Sure it is a little dangerous but I promised we would touch up the scorched eves on the building when we left....

151 - What a coincidence. This is the number of rooms already booked at Mount Snow for the rally. This is going to be a well attended event. Don't miss out. Even the $49/night rooms at Snow Lake Lodge get you close to the rally action and all the great riding the rally area has to offer.  If you are planning on attending, please make reservations soon before rooms begin to get scarce.

Registration is nearing the 300 mark and rooms are filling fast.  The rally team is frantically getting prepared.  Latest news is Murph's Kits will sponsor Ice Cream for the first 300 at the No-Host Social Gathering Tuesday evening.

Book your rooms to make sure you have a place to stay and please register online for the event soon so the team has an idea of how many people to plan for.

The cut off date for ordering National Rally Merchandise is July 13th! Your order must be in by July 13th. All national merchandise is "pre order" by registered rally attendees only - so if you want a memento you need to get registered moving. If you've already ordered you can still go into the system and add stuff to your order if needed.

Only registered attendees that are present during the banquet prize drawing are eligible to win some of the terrific prizes to be given away... like a weekend lodging at Myrtle Beach Holiday Inn Express or Cardo Systems Scalarider G4 Powerset.

Those as just a tease and I've been told more are coming in... Aerostich, ROADGEAR and Twisted Throttle have also committed to being a prize sponsor.  We also have stuff coming in from the terrific smaller vendors like yourself and are always looking for more vendors on-board to get prizes out to more attendees. Thanks to you all.

The Over the Pond travelers will be arriving in the "US of A" in 5 days to start their ride to Mt Snow.
Bernd will arrive in Colorado. Gie will arrive in Nebraska.
They will meet up in Lincoln Nebraska.
They will start the ride by going to Kawasaki Headquarters to pay Homage at the Home of our Beloved Concours!!!!
If anyone is in the area, Chris has  a gathering planned. Contact him to find out details....

The reason I'm posting this here is to plea for "tasty Delicasies" for the Travelers to sample.
The Sampling of Tasty Delicasies is a "Over the Pond" tradition!

If I can find some Jalopenia's in Vermont? I'll fix em' some Jalopenia Poppers.....
I suspect Guy (Rottten Individual that he is) will probably have some Moonshine. (I almost killed myself the last time he brought that)!
Rick will definitely show them some of the local beers....

If anyone else has something special for them to sample,,,,,  bring it along (or share it with them if you see them on the way to Mt Snow).

This is gonna be great!!!

Ride safe, Ted

There will be a trivia game Wednesday night at 830.  Swell prizes will be given to those that know their rock music.  There is no fee for teams of up to 6 people to complete.

Me thinks the first line of the song does not start with "well" it is "all"

Q: Who wrote and performed this song?

John Denver wrote it, but Peter Paul and Mary made it a number one hit.

That is really surprising to me because I associate that song with Mama Cass Elliot. I guess I just caught it a little further down the road.

John Denver performed it with Cass Elliot in 72.

Probably because you thought Cass was hotter than Mary!!!

Those heading from the south up I-91 through Mass, there are about 3 spots where there is bridge construction going on.
It might cause delays during the day.  If you get caught in it, you might try I-5 which is a more secondary highway and runs parallel to it. Once you get to East Hampton or Hatfield you're good until the bridge construction in VT between exit 1 and 2. Vermont bridge should not be any problem getting through.
I travel the Mass I-91 section a lot. Cops work it 24/7, so don't go over 70mph. They love to hide behind things. They have someone pulled over every trip through. They look mean with the stupid hat and bagging pants. I think they are pissed off because of what they have to wear.

We are leaving tomorrow morning.

I just told Kirby he could not go. He was waiting on the bike, and so anxious that he was pacing back and forth. I could not bear to tell him in person so I called him on his cell phone. He did not seem happy....
