Hey guys,
New in this forum...been reading posts for the last two weeks looking for key pointers on the installation of the MC Canyon Bars; I'm in Tyler, TX and would like to shout out for help:

is someone around Tyler (100 miles or so), has done the installation and is willing to give me a hand?

I have some general mechanical experience though, but I still have reservations on my ability to install the long bolt that goes through the engine and holds the bars together.
If someone volunteers, I will ride to your location and have the job done, along with an invitation for lunch-dinner-beer to thank for the help.

I've done it and would be happy to help but I'm about 270 miles away north of Dripping Springs.

BTW: the long bolt is the easier part of the install  ;)

Thanks a bunch Rhino,
When would be best for you? Weekend?
I am thinking Saturday April 28, how does this fit your agenda?
But for me any day during that week could work.
Again...thanks so very much.

Actually that might work. Weekends are the only possibility for me. Can I get back to you as to which day is best? It is quite a hike. Went to Athens last year and took about 5 hours with stops taking the back roads.

Thanks a bunch Rhino,

Not to worry, I'm thinking on riding there during the previous Friday, spend the night somewhere near and knock on your door early Saturday...That's the plan though.
Your lead!

Update on the installation...

I rode to Rhino’s last weekend, what a great time we had! Installing the Cage bars was, at a point, secondary...it went so smooth! Maybe it was due to the one hour ride before I got there, you know, The engine warm and bolts a bit more cooperative.

After about an hour’s work, we took to the road through some curvy spots, great ride, and MAN! can Rhino lean on those twists!

then late lunch and headed back home with a new biker friend, and bars installed...all and all, great weekend.

Happy times!

Yes it was a great weekend! Had a blast wrenching on a C14 again and riding with my new friend out to Johnson City. Next time we'll dine on linguini with clams!  :P
