What book(s) are you reading right now?
« on: January 14, 2013, 02:40:49 PM »
Since there's a 'What are you listening to right now?' thread, how about a 'What book(s) are you reading' thread. Might give me some leads on good books.

Jack Higgins- Dark Justice and Clive Cussler- The Thief

Just finished Executive Power - Vince Flynn

Good read - I'd give it an 8/10 in the Thriller category.

Good idea on the thread   I am always looking for good books, even more so now with my new Kindle.

Neal Stephenson - Snow Crash.  Prior to this another Neal Stephenson - Cryptonomicon.  Both excellent reads.

Wished I'd known, and we were closer.... Currently 30% though the SEL book, I 'read' 3-4 times a week.

And have read several Burt Rutan and Nat Puffer books, currently 80% finished with Puffer's latest.

Harry Harrison - Planet of the Damned

Enumclaw, if ya like Neal Stephenson try his 2nd novel "Zodiac: An Eco-Thriller".
Quite different from his current style but excellent fun and full of action.

Pepsi, tried watching the movie and stopped after about 10 minutes, dumb, too Euro weird. Book though I found really good, but then the books are always better. OK, back to books.

SB, I really enjoyed the american version of GWADT, well other than the motorcycle chase scene.
So far the book is good. I look forward to the movie made here.

Rutan is a genius.  I have seriously thought of buying a kit to build, but not sure I would be willing to fly anything I built.  And I am a bit of a performance snob, I really couldn't afford to build anything that would properly entertain me.  Acro-wise yes, overall performance no.

205Vne, 8gph @ 75% @ 8k and 150kt, four seats, 1200+ range @ 65%, ceiling FL180+ ... You get real cautious at building when you know your a$$ will be in the right seat. I'll come visit, maybe this year if I'm lucky.

Erps, reading e6b instructions. It's dry as a popcorn fart too :-/

Yeah, good numbers for the fuel used.  I'm looking at 300+ kts and pressurized.  Known icing cert too.  But then, I'm a dreamer.  If I ever hit the lotto daddy's gettin a King Air.  One of the sweetest planes I've ever flown.

Currently nothing. I actually have to find new material to read as I have read all of my favs, or almost all. I have read all of Lee Child, Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, David Baldacci.
