Love my Concours 14 BUT when I was at the dealer....
« on: August 24, 2012, 04:26:14 PM »
I saw my first Honda Rune ... some day I will have to get one , I'll always have a Concours 14 - 15 because It really is a old mans Sport bike  ;)
But that Rune is SPECIAL , a town bike,  I must be living in a cave to not know  they were made in 04-05 WOW.
 Has anyone ever driven one?

Meh.  To me it just looks like a flashy, low, impractical, loud, overpriced, heavy, chromed, poor handing, lower-tech cruiser thing.

I have always  liked them and wanted one. I see it as a 50s retro mobster look. But admit not practical.

I thought they were ugly, seems to have been the majority opinion of the buying public considering the short run.

Joke back in the day was they took a perfectly good motorcycle and "Runed" it...

That's what they did took a Valkyrie in runed did it.  The Valkyrie was a really good bike Till they made the rune. I wouldn't waste my money on it.

I was a VTX guy at the time, mostly because the Valk was too expensive for me at the time.  And I agree with the above and the masses...they took a great bike and ruined it.

Wrong forum?  Looks like exactly the right forum... "other bikes."

Impractical Yeah that is what I LOVE about it ;D
I've got my business up for sale , 70 + hour work weeks 12 employees , I'm 58 I I'm sick of being practical , I'll just take care of my rentals and be Impractical ::)
Loud ... No It NOT loud
Overpriced ... One just sold on ebay $ 15,000  3,000 miles
Heavy ... yeah so is the Concours , but the Rune's weight is low , with a 26" seat .
Poor handing , you mean Handling? only at 2 mph just like your Concours.
Low tech ?? You are very wrong , you have heard  about Honda before right ?
It has a revised fuel and ignition mapping hotter cam six individual throttle bodies with 12 injectors, yes it gets poorer fuel mileage    than a Concours so what! I don't plan on getting rid of my Kaw, I just LIKE it, yes a Sunday Cruiser.
12.42 seconds at 107 mph in the 1/4 mile yeah it is a real dog,  ::)
My wife saw it and thinks it's Bonita  ;)

Something about the front fork just doesn't look right, like its backwards or something...can't be very good for handling. I never cared for it and I guess many didn't either according to the sales numbers. Not many out there, but I'm guessing there may be a few of them for sale these days.
