Title: Handlebar Options
Post by: elvin315 on May 18, 2011, 10:33:47 PM
HANDLEBARS:
There are lots of handlebar options for the Concours. The GenMar / KB / MCL type riser blocks are the simplest and most popular. They range from 1.25 to 1.5 inches. Doubling the riser blocks will require longer cables and hoses. The total cost of dual blocks and the necessary cables and hoses might end up more expensive than the other options. GenMar now sells a 2 inch riser block which includes a longer Galfer Braided SS brake hose and choke cable extender bracket. The Buck Sport Touring's ZG Bars are modified Concours bars mounted on riser blocks. They provide an increase in height as well as bringing the grips closer to you. The tube bar kits convert the cast bars to 7/8 inch tubular bars. The choice of bars is up to you. Go to Flanders Handlebars and find your bars. The Helibars are the ultimate in bars. Height, pull-back, and grip angle are all infinitely adjustable. Out of production. Look on Ebay or our marketplace. Convertibars provide near-Helibar adjustability. They have been tested on the Concours by an owner but not confirmed by Convertibars. Some of these handlebar options may require longer hoses and cable also but anything under 1.5 inches should allow use of the originals.
