Well at low altitude it could smash a lot of bugs but my old Aeronca 7AC was better at that.

Vulcan and Victor at Westover AFB in the mid-60s...and a vid with XH555.  I wish I had more on the Victor but my dad took those.  I'll have to speak to him about that some time in the future.

Thank you! Mine doesn't look anything like that yet. Previous owner had it apart for, engine overhaul, new panel and new paint. He passed away last spring. My brother and I bought it from the estate. He was my brother's best friend since HS and at the Air Force Academy together. Before he (the previous owner) retired he was the commanding General of the NY Air National Guard. We plan to paint it like the NY-ANG post war P-51's and put his name on the side.

It's got a Lycoming O-320. Kind of hard to make the cowling look like its got a mini merlin under it. Unlike a Thunder Mustang, the RV's were never intended to look like a P-51 but it is a better resemblance than a Mini Mustang IMO.  ;)

I cannot give enough  to do this justice.. :salute:

Nice! So happy I got a chance to see a Lancaster fly at Oshkosh years ago. One shot in the stock WWII footage in the report was of a B-24 not a Lanc. But what can you expect from TV reporters.

Jim,
I didn't think that was your type?   :stirpot:
You said a couple months ago about the MQ-9, "While some may like these new fangled aircraft, I can certainly say that I don't.  I like large aircraft, piloted directly by human beings, that drop very large bombs and cause massive destruction...all for world peace, of course."

CRS... ;)   Ask my wife, she'll tell you that.  Most times my immediate reaction to anything new is 'NO' or 'Hell No' or Effen that.  However, for some strange reason, sometimes I can modify a stance.  In this case, I have it on good authority that it was piloted by midgets or very small children using their LeapFrogs.  It's the new AF.
