I am swapping the Ohlins from my dead 09 to my 08 and can't remember which way the reservoir faces.

Thanks Martin, the rear end pic clinches it. Reservoir would be visible if it was facing rearward.

By the way I spent a full 2 hours trying to get the dang shock through the swingarm before I finally realized the exhaust had to come off first. Do not remember that from first two installs.
