Title: Remote headlight adjuster
Post by: billp on March 23, 2012, 08:54:57 PM
A few people have noticed I'm selling a 2000 C-10 in the for sale section with a remote headlight adjuster and have asked about it, the adjuster not the bike unfortunately, and yes the bike is still for sale.

I put this in about 10 years ago and it's still working, though I rarely use it, if it were cranked around on a daily basis there's no telling how long it would've lasted.

I used the adjuster cable from a Voyager XII and a tee nut, the kind with holes not prongs. I bolted the tee nut to the vertical adjuster wheel on the headlight, the barrel of the tee nut was squeezed down so the square end of the adjuster cable just fit.
The bracket on the end of the cable has to be cut down to clear the fairing frame, you can see it in the picture.
It is then bolted to the headlight shell, there's not much room in there.
Finally, the knob fits well above the left fairing pocket.

I had a remote headlight elevation adjuster on the Pacifico Fairing.  It was really handy going from solo to two up as often as I did.  Your encouragement may have motivated me to add one to this ZG.  Thanks for the post

I didn't mention it in the OP cause I thought it was obvious, but bear in mind the headlight has to come out to do this.
