Helmet Lock
« on: May 20, 2011, 11:17:41 AM »
I need a helmet lock - just one. I don't carry passengers, ever.

Any thoughts on the ProjectD AeroForm?
  • Are they hard to install?
  • Can they be rekeyed to my bike key?
  • How long does there Airmail shipping take?

Are there any others out there? I'd prefer to buy from a US based firm.

I ordered a BigFoot from ProjektD and got it in I believe a week (to Cali).

On the helmet locks, I have heard from others on here that they take a novice about 2 minutes to install as it uses screws and mounts to the luggage rack. And no, from my understanding, they cannot be re-keyed to the bike as they seem to have a different kind if key.

Which shipping method did you use - International EMS or Air Mail?

Can't remember. I will see if my confirmation e-mail or shipping tag show it when I get home.

Thanks for the info. You don't need to look for the shipping info.

I ordered their helmet lock and Big Foot and had it shipped Air Mail (slower but cheaper).

Actually I did search for helmet lock before I posted but didn't find that article.

While I welcome the link, it would have come over better without the first line.

Sorry, wasn't meant to be mean.  It was only 1 screen back at the time.  To me, it would seem impossible that a search wouldn't find it, since it was so recent and so prominent.  But I just tried a search AND IT DIDN'T SHOW!   So you are not crazy.  Something about this new forum is broken.  I will post about it somewhere...
