Title: 2004 Concours - recently downed.
Post by: wanderer on May 30, 2011, 09:49:51 AM
Evansville, Indiana

I'm giving up riding, so whether or not I repair this bike myself doesn't matter.  It rides perfectly fine, rode it home 100 miles, it's all cosmetic.   The bike ended up sliding, but no collision.  I have the tip over bars that kept the damage down, but it still adds up.  I'm going to turn it in to insurance and see what they intend to do, but I wanted to put out a feeler see the interest around here first.  I know project bikes are sought out and this one totally fits that niche.   I could part it out over time I guess, but if I can get $2,500 for it now I'll do it.  Again, the bike is solid mechanically wise.   Any questions, please ask.

If you decide to part it out I would like first dibs on the Corbin.
Post up some pics if you decide thats the route you want to take.

Oh....sorry about laying her down. I hope you came out of it better than the bike.

Yeah, I'm fine.  Silver dollar size scrape above my knee and on my shin with the normal body soreness.  I posted a thread in riding stories.

Haven't had time to deal with insurance yet to see what they want to do.  I'll post back with information soon as I know.

Just remember that no matter what the insurance says you still own the bike and they can not take it from you if they pay off on it. This was discussed a number of times on the old forum. The insurance company is only compensating you for your loss, but you still own the title of the vehicle.

If you do part it out I would be interested in the front end (fork, fender, wheel, brakes) for the right price.

Glad to hear that you are none the worse for what happened.

Glad to hear you're OK.

I'd be interested in the carburetors if you decide to part it out.

Regardless, keep us posted on how you make out.  (Good luck!)  :)
