2010 Concours for sale 36,000 miles, $9500
« on: October 17, 2012, 06:35:36 PM »
I have too many bikes!  I just bought a BMW 1600 to replace my Goldwing as my two-up bike, and it really seems to serve the same purpose as my Concours.  I also have a Ninja 1000 that has become my normal ride for Saturdays.  BTW, my Goldwing is also for sale if anyone is interested http://gl1800riders.com/forums/showthread.php?326716-2009-Goldwing-Nav-ABS-10-000-miles-19-998-FOR-SALE

The Concours is in very good condition and has Michelin PR2 tires that have several thousand miles left on them.  The valves were checked by my dealer at about 28,000 miles and all were in spec.   I ride the bike fast, but not hard.  I'm very careful to properly warm the bike up in easy riding, and I am careful to run the bike easy for a few miles before shutting it down.   I run Mobil 1 in the bike, and I'm very picky about caring for it.

The bike has the following "farkles" on it right now.  I am listing the price of these options.  If you want them, pls add the price to the bike.  I'm never sure which way is better to price the bike.  If you'd like, add these prices to the bike then deduct the price if you don't want them  :o

Three windshields - stock 2010, stock 2008-09, and CalSci tinted cut down very low (see pics).  I will include these at no extra cost

Sargent seat and pod.  Please note that this configuration does NOT have a passenger seat.  Add $350 for this option or you get the factory seat that was on the bike for one week.

Dale Walker Holeshot muffler.  Add $250 for this.  Or you only get the bazooka.  For the $250 you get both.

Dash mounted controller for heated gear.  This is a Gerbings item that is mounted permanently on the right black fairing panel and controls a powerlet in front of your left leg.  I also have a second powerlet by the controller, but it is not controlled by the controller - it is hot all the time.  I will include these for the price of the bike as it is too hard to take them off and buy a new panel.

I have a Motorcycle Larry steering stem nut that is tapped for a ram ball.  This is what I have my GPS mounted on.  The GPS is not included, but I will leave the steering stem nut and wiring in place at no charge.

I have a custom made radar detector mount that goes on the clutch reservoir.  I  made this myself to mount a Beltronics 995.  Whether it will work on other detectors depends upon the size.  This is to complicate to explain, but it works great.  I use it with a Marc Parnes  LED warning mounted on top of the gauges.  I have this same setup on all my bikes and it works great.  I'm not including pics, let me know if you want them.  As this is custom made for the bike, I'll include it a no extra cost.

Stebel Air horns.  This was a royal pain in the ass to mount.  It is mounted under the right side fairing panel and uses a FuzeBlock and relay.  As much as I hate to, I will include it in the price of the bike because it's too hard to remove.  It is LOUD and does get peoples attention.

I have installed the 08-09 glove box on top of the gas tank.  No charge for it.

BTW, I just changed the oil a few weeks ago.  It literally only has less than 100 miles on fresh Mobil 1 and Kawa filter.

I think this covers it all. I honestly was not planning to sell it yet, but what the hell, might as well get it out there.

I don't always remember to check the for sale section, so if you are interested it might help to send me a PM.

BTW, in the pics below, in the third picture you can see some of the stuff mentioned above.  It did not have the radar detector mount in this picture, so please don't go by that, but it is still mounted above the reservoir.

I spoke with my dealer yesterday (owner is a long time friend of mine) where my Goldwing is on consignment.  He told me motorcycles sales have slowed down again.  If you are interested in my bike let's talk.

Correct, I am in the Houston area.  Thanks for the comments on the GW.  I'm negotiable on both bikes.

And the 2 you are selling still look better than that Bimmer.  ;)  How are you liking it by the way?

The BMW is a really nice bike.  Honestly, it is better than I expected it to be.  I thought it would be a great replacement for the Goldwing.  But I have 750 miles on it now with some pretty serious back road riding and I can tell you that it is as much fun as the Concours.  They do feel different - the Concours still feels a little sportier, but it would come down to the rider as to which would win a road race I think.  The differences are more subjective than objective.  I'm pretty sure the Concours will outrun it in a straight line, but on the other hand the BMW has more mid range torque, but then it goes a little flat above 7,000 rpm.  The BMW is a nicer cruising bike getting to the twisties.

Both great bikes, and if I didn't have the Ninja 1000 I'm not sure if I'd sell the Concours or not - I'd be tempted to keep it.  But I love the Ninja 1000 and I ride it probably three out of four weekends.

I just bought a three-year extended Kawasaki warranty for the bike and plan to list it on consignment with a dealer soon.  Still flexible on the price, but I think it is priced right as a starting point.  Right now I will still include several of the extras, but once it goes on consignment I will sell most of the extras off the bike.

Sorry the pics are down.  I moved some folders around and will gladly send pics out to anyone who wants to see them.

I don't check this thread daily, so please PM me if interested.

The bike is now on consignment at a local Kawasaki dealer with the price listed at $8995.  It has the extended warranty and the Dale Walker exhaust on it, but otherwise has been stripped of all the farkels.
