Heat shield for V&H CSOne

it's strange
I bought mine used and the po said he did not get one because of the cost. but if I go to their web page it says it is included with a new one.
I called V&H and they told me they are out and will not build any till Jan sometime. and the cost for the shield is about 80 bucks. I did not ask if they are included when I had them on the phone. I was on hold for 45 minutes just to talk to them
it does not look bad without the shield

forgot to add I called a V&H dealer to see about ordering the shield and they told me that part would have to be bought right from V&H as they can not sell parts and pieces
I do not think the shield is a big deal and it looks fine without it. I also do not think it is going to matter for me as I think the pipe is going to be too loud for me and it will come back off. I really like the looks of it but not sure about the sound yet. too much snow on the road to get the bike out and try it but in the garage it is way loud. maybe with the bags on and moving down the road it will be ok but I have my droughts. the bike is too quiet for me with the stock bazooka, I would like a deep throaty sound but I do not think the V&H is going to be that sound
it does look better on the bike than any I have seen. just my opinion

Thanks for the info.  I too am looking for a deeper throaty sound as well.  Will probably try an insert or two but V&H is closed until Tuesday, 1/3.  I emailed them but haven't heard back yet.

I have no heat shield and I wear riding boots nearly everyday. I don't see any reason to get one as I don't see any difference in heat with my tennis shoes on.
