Bar Swap Question for C10
« on: January 01, 2017, 09:49:27 PM »
I did a search looking for ways to swap out the stock setup for a 7/8" bar set up top tree.
I'm 6'1" and on the 86 its an uncomfortable stretch, a lot easier on the 99 with the risers and a cut-down Corbin seat.
Just wishing for a taller bar that I could rotate back to me a little more so I could sit up and not put so much weight on my wrists.

Found myself wishing I had my old GS850 again.  I really love the way the 99 runs though.

this is the ticket, I have these on my bike, and had them on my other C10 also, allows using any bar of choice, I liked the Daytona and also Superbike bar styles, they fit my body the best, many folks go to ATV bars, taller but can be rolled backwards to alleviate stretching...

I don't know how long these will be available, but they are the best solution currently.

If you want more adjustability, Heli bars are awesome too.

Depends on the bars you use . I used the Daytona bend bars and my stock cables worked with slight rerouting . I believe the superbike bars would be ok to . Murphs use to carry bars and longer cables too if you went a different route .

With Helibars switching cables from left of steering stem, as they come from factory, to right side will provide needed length so no new cables.  Have seen bikes with the Daytona setup and that's all that was needed also.

my 2000 has pro tapers on it and stock cables were just fine as well.  while they weren't per-say taller they were way wider . my 99 has helibars pulled -way- back and the stock cables are fine as well, but i think the LH side ones were rerouted a bit. (sorry no pic on that)

I break and fix stuff.  No more concours's in the stables. see you guys around...
