ZZR shock
« on: December 19, 2011, 10:33:44 PM »
Hey guys, I apparently missed that we changed servers (shows how long it's been since I've been on lol).

Anywho, I picked up a ZZR1200 shock for the reasonable price of a case of Sam Adams (don't hate).

I'm going to need the ZZR lower bolt, nut and bushing, and possibly some washers.  Am I missing anything?  Thanks fellas!

Here is a great write up on it.

But I think you got most of it, perhaps the larger washers and shaving a little off the bushing.  It's about a 90 min upgade. Good Luck

Cheers

I just installed a ZZR shock today.  I'm eager to ride it later this week.

Took the "new" shock for a spin and noticed a difference over the stock shock.  I've done the rear shock rebuild kit from Murphs and it did help the stock shock, but I'm finding the ZZR shock to be less harsh over rough pavement.  Now, with the ZZR shock, I'm thinking the front forks with the 1.1 springs and 15w oil are a bit harsh.  I'm thinking that maybe 10w oil in the forks would be a bit better?
