Yesterday on my morning commute, got nailed by the highway patrol. Pulled over to the side on a slight incline. Got off on the right side as the angle was kind of weird. Gave the LEO my DL and pulled the registration from the pouch on the back of the passenger back support. Just as I handed him the package he said bike falling, turned to see it just go over and hit the dirt on the side of the road. Damage was a broken right mirror, scuffed bag and minor scuffing on the fairing near the mirror mount. He helped me pick the bike up and stabilize it. I guess it was a mixed blessing, when he wrote me up he gave me a rural speeding ticket for $72.00, no points rather than a ticket for 17 over for $220 and 2 points. Guess he felt I had suffered enough. :( :(

Talk about adding Insult to Injury there..... :-[

That absolutely is not good. Sorry to hear it.

I'm sorry to hear this too. The LEO should have let you off with a warning after the drop!

Nice kick to the lower abdominal area LEO. Your bike just fell over, so here is a ticket to go with it. :deadhorse:
Sorry to hear about that.

You always pull over where it is flat. ;)

And yet another low blow. ::)

Yeah, flat is always the best. I think I got over to the right side too far and the road was cambered for run off from snow. Mirror was another $100.
There is the possiblity of the first snow fall next week, I was at the 8700 foot level so my riding days over the 8900 ft summit are numbered anyway. After the first snow, run off during the day freezes at night and leaves nice icey strips to catch in the shaddy curves. Time to do planned upgrades on the bike.

A rural speeding ticket? There is no such thing here in Florida even though the middle of the state is nothing but cow pastures.
