Congrats on the new bike and welcome.
Not wanting to sound or seem like a dick but please spell it Concours.  French word for contest or competition. Any other word can be misspelled, just not that one.
We are a pretty tongue in cheek bunch here so don't get your back up if you think somebody is dissing you.
Man do I love this bike! Red '09

Check these out.  Simply taking the seat off exposes the battery; two bolts and a couple fuel and vacuum lines removed and you can pull the tank off, but if all you want to do is drain the gas, tank removal isn't necessary as Connie has a "prime" position on the petcock which allows the fuel to flow without the motor running.  Unfortunately, this (or a leaking petcock) can cause the dreaded "hydrolock" on these motors.  Read this.....

Make sure you take the two side panels off before removing the gas tank.  Otherwise, you run a very high risk of scratching them up when the tank edges touch them.  The tank is only held on by two bolts (plus the fuel line, vacuum line, and gas gauge wiring and drain tube cover).  Don't loose the two black rubber grommets that the front of the gas tank rests on.  They have a habit of falling and disappearing into the engine and front fairing area.

If you remove the seat and ther is a black plastic tray there and no visable battery, remove the two screws and two 10mm bolts, and it is below it.
