One of the guys that I met at the 2005 rally had done an extensive write up on his adjustable windshield.  As I recall, it was a very nicely done project.  No idea where that might be now that the Grand Masters have pooched our home base.

The "Grand Masters" had nothing whatsoever with us loosing our home base; it was an unrecoverable crash plain and simple...

An adjustable windshield is the bomb!

Bill bought one from a fellow cogger here a few years back.  After a few years of extreme jealousy I purchased a set of Firecreek Slides and a Gustafsson windshield and Bill made one for my bike also.

Buffeting is gone!   ;D

My original plan was to take on this project of making a adjustable windshield and post pics along the way so everyone can see how problems I come up against get ironed out. It takes time to take pics and proceed ahead with the project. I didn't seem to get any response early on and then the thread went south with posts about the other site crashing. At that point I said "why bother wasting my time, no one is interested.
Now I have been getting PMs about the shield and how it adjusts etc. from people who are truley interested in a project like this.  The project is almost complete.  I will post a picture at the end for the people who asked.

I made my own manual adjustable shield about 10 years ago for my C-10. Took it off due to the high amount of particulate dust in the air here in SoCal. It was coating the shield surfaces between the two pieces.

Since then I have ridden a Honda ST, Honda Goldwing, Victory, and the Yamaha cruisers, all with electric adjustable shields. I would love to have one on my next bike, it may even be a purchase decision.

Would love to see your solution for the C-10.

I am using BMW mechanical arms. These arms are spring loaded, which hold the BMW windshield tight.  The windshiled came with mounting covers. I went with BMW arms because they tilt, go up, they are cheap and easy to find...... why reinvent the wheel? It's amazing how much the angle and up happens on the windshield, with such little movement from the arms.
When the BMW adjustable windshield came out, everyone laughed and though it was a gimick, Now most bikes have them.
As far as the BMW windshield goes, it has a nice flip vent in the bottom and a small flip at the top. Its from a R1150 RT.

The only hold up at this point is I cut down my Cee baily windshield(cee baily acts as a mounting base for the BMW arms) and I made small cuts on the lower bottom of the BMW windshield. I'm not sure on how to finish the edges off????
Any ideas on what to use to finish off cut windshield edges???? Im in a stall over the edges.

What do you mean by coating? I cut the heck out of my Cee Baily and there is not too much between them.... If anyone hasn't noticed, I'm not afraid to cut.
