Notorious. Interesting film, not crazy about the ending. But it does have Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant and Claude Rains so really, how bad could it be? Not 'Casablanca' but pretty good for classic film noir.

Tonight is North by Northwest. I have lesser expectations for this one though.... Tough to compete with Humphrey Bogart in the same era IMO. Casablanca and Sahara are just outstanding movies if you can get into the right mindset for watching them IMO.

Watched "Taking Chance" with Kevin Bacon. Very moving movie. A Marine Lt. Col, feeling guilty about not volunteering to go to Afghanistan in 2004 and upset about the many casualties volunteered for escort duty to bring the body of a marine pvt home and wrote a journal about the experience. This movie is based on that journal. Maybe one of Kevin Bacon's best movies.

Since you mentioned it...

This Fargo is very Tarantinoish.  So much in fact, that if I didn't know any better, I would think he was behind it.  I think the Coen's stole his style.  My wife doesn't like it as much as last year's version.  Listen to the music why don't you?  I like it, but I like Tarantino.  I also like the Coen brothers but this is a rip off of Tarentino's style.

Watching American Horror as well...

We tired to watch, and like, the new American Horror Story. Can't do it.

I can't find any of the new shows to like.

We're re-watching Sopranos instead.   :)

Perfect fit for Lady Gaga.  She gets multiple new wardrobs to wear.  I think that's why she took the part.  She's not too bad of an actress either.  I enjoy seeing the actors playing different parts..  I'm also a big fan of Art Deco and this hotel is magnificent in that role.

I don't like it as well as last years version. Billy Bob's character was just too cool and plum scary.

Last year's Fargo was excellent IMO. This one is shaping up to be similar but it will take some more episodes to know that. I especially like the two Amish- looking hit men; odd in an amusing, ominous sort of way.

Check out last year's version. I thought it was excellent- also dark but with lighter areas around the outside.

We tried also but just could not choke it down. The first year was pretty good and every season of that series has gotten progressively worse IMO, passing tolerable a few years ago :-(

I go back to Breaking Bad to wash the bad images of current TV out of my mind.... :-)

Thanks for the tip on this one Rhino! This was a damn good movie! VERY moving, my wife and I both had tears in our eyes while watching.

Thanks Conrad. I learned a lot about the process of how the military treats their fallen. It must be a very difficult preparing for a job that you hope you never get to perform. But I guess the entire military is that way. Any of you veterans reading this, thank you for your service.

If you like martial arts films with GREAT fight scenes then you really need to watch Into The Badlands on AMC.

http://www.amc.com/shows/into-the-badlands

Well written and acted. Their lips even match the dialog.   ;)

Did I mention the great fight scenes?
