Greetings from Cape Breton Island
« on: August 09, 2015, 04:33:43 PM »
Hello everyone,
I am a long time dual-sport rider but just bought a 2013 Concours 14. The increase in power and comfort is a welcome change, although I'm hanging on to my old faithful KLR 650. I am looking forward to learning about the new bike. I am very lucky that I have the Cabot Trail just a short ride away from my garage and can't wait to ride it on something without knobby tires.

Welcome from Calgary.
These bikes are mile munchers, ride safe.
I've been thinking of selling my Bandit and getting a KLR.
Cheers
Doug

Thank you for the welcome. Some of you must have some British roots if you find my name "ironic" ;D.

Welcome, I was there in 1982!

Time to come back. There is some great riding here if it isn't raining, snowing or 10 below zero! Actually, the scenery and lack of traffic is something I am guilty of taking for granted. I am very lucky.

Thanks, the KLR has been a great bike. I have an 08, which most would agree have the most problems, but a little care and rerouting of the wiring and a steady supply of Rotella T and it just keeps going. The height and weight of it can be intimidating coming from a street bike with a lower center of gravity but you get used to it pretty quickly. It is definitely a handful off road but if you take your time it will go anywhere. As you can see from my avatar it can also crush you!
