« on: May 13, 2011, 06:25:25 PM »
Over the Pond "X",   2011,,,  Host Update   :-* 8)

We've been working on the HOST LIST, Route, and Schedule, that the Over the Pond Travelers will use!!
Yahooooooooooo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

They are going to start their ride in Colorado, ride to the National in Vermont by way of Kentucky, New York, D.C. and a few other choice places.
Their return ride will pass thru Niagra Falls, Detroit, Chicago, Nebraska, and other states.

It's gonna be good... VERY GOOD!!!!

We are very close to finalizing the plan and will soon contact everyone that (err) volunteered to Host the Travelers.
The purpose is to check that all the volunteer Hosts know the schadule, and to make final arrangements....

 :feedback:
Contact me at ted@concours.org if you;
     volunteered,
     were drafted,
or even think you might be on the list of Hosts.

NOTE: I don't want to miss anyone in my notes.
I will reply back as soon as I can.

Ride safe, Ted

Haven't checked my mail yet this morning.
Yesterday a few of the "noble" team of Hosts checked in.
Hopefully more will check in today or soon.
Keep those carsd and letters coming!!

Once we get in contact with everyone we'll start planning the party.

Those of you that are not a Host are invited to get into the fun.
We really want these OtP Travelers to meetthe COGdom.
So,    we'll post the Route and the Host list. If the Travelers are coming thru your area, contact the local Hostand see what he has planned.

More later, Ride safe, Ted

PS: Has anyone seen Harry lately?
He was planning a really neat T-Shirt, and I HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!!!

        Hans,, please flog Harry!

(Whack, pop, pow, boinggggggg, whackity whack whack whack,,,,,,)

<Evil grin> I just love the sound of Harry getting flogged in the morning..  Don't you??

SO FAR, SO GOOD...The OTP Boss-man (Hans) has informed me that the OTP X is a GO!

I have read that Ted (some sort of OTP subordinate Slave) has been posting malicious information on this forum. Please be advised that when I catch up with him, I will put an end to his miss-information. Now the real scoop...

We have collected sufficient funds for airfare and maybe enough to include luggage for the OTP X Traveler.

Having said that, I need to flog on everyone to please send in your pledge cash (dollars, pennies, first born) if you have not already done so.

Please visit http://flogomatic.blogspot.com/ to make a pledge or last minute donation for the OTP X Traveler.

Please keep in mind, we collected funds to get the rider here. We will still be depending on the kindness of complete strangers to help the traveler along (hint-hint...extra gas money).

If there is any money left over from your kind donations, we will put it to good use by sending teD half way across the pond. You remember Ted don't ya? The OTP slave hiding out in the Texas wasteland... :o

Anyway, my gratitude to you all for reading this and making donations to OTP.

Just talked to Bernd.
He arrived in Denver on time.
Rick picked him up and they drove to Ricks home. (Casa Hall)
Bernd was tired from a long day.
Said he got up at 6:00 AM German time. When I talked with him he said it was now 3:00 AM German time....
Was very happy to be here!!!!
Plan is to drink a cold beer, eat a bite,,, and visit with Rick as they wait for Harry Martin (Dirty Rotten Scoundrel) and Phil Tarman to arrive.
After they arrive they will do some visiting and Lie Swapping.

Special plan: I urged Rick to "not allow" Harry do much.   (Hee hee)
Whatever Harry wants to do,, Rick is instructed to tell Harry that only "Texans get that priveledge".. <evil grin>

Rick said he'sgoing  put Bernd to bed shortly so that he can get on the US sleep schedule.

Bernd is here, so is Pastor Phil from Ft. Morgan, and the world renowned artist Harry Martin from Casper (don't tell Ted).

Bernd is on his second 1554 (dark ale from New Belgium Brewery, Ft. Collins), second G&T for me, Harry's first beer, same for Phil.

Harry's artwork for the OtP X shirts is bitchin. If you haven't bought one yet, by all means do so. Here's the link: http://www.cafepress.com/hmcartoons/6732951

COG Nation,

Just talked to Rich Hall and Bernd at 3:30CT.  They had to stop in Norton, Kansas so Bernd could take a picture of the temperature reading 38 Celsius, or for you metric challenged that 100 degrees!!   Approximately, 250 mile from Lincoln.

I got this off of Gie's Blog...

Apparently, Kawasaki was generous to our OtP Traveler!!!!
See below...

Unfortunately the photo's won't open for me?
Can someone get them open and post them?

Ride safe, Ted

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Jim Shomaker (marketing) , Bernd, Gie, and Mike Boyle, manager of the plant.

Als we must also thank Scott Bauer, it took him two hours to show the plant and explain the production process.

But the best was at the end of the tour:

Kawasaki offered a new C-14 to use for the OTP trip !!!.
Here you can see Mike Boyle, plant manager, handing over the bike to Bernd.    :o

From now Bernd will be looking like this:    8)
