Title: Problem Shortening the Stock Muffler
Post by: Toaster on November 30, 2011, 03:11:36 PM
Greetings

I was bored and tired of the over-size muffle on my 09, so I bought a used one from fellow on this form.
I decided to cut 6" off.
I had no problem using a grinder to cut the weld seam off the back of the muffler. I then carefully measured back 6" and cut 6" off the outside of the muffler can.
I then cut 6" off the inside of the muffler baffle that is closed to the muffler intake,
The problem I am having is that the pipe from the header that goes into the muffles is now up against the baffle wall.
Do I need  to cut the baffle plate out or cut the pipe off that in protruding into the muffle from the header?

Thanks
Bryan

I just cut some of the baffle out when I had the same issue.  I cut 9 inches off the can and cut about 11 inches off the baffles.
