Well first off, she is an American by definition (born in Chicago). As far as the speech, she is bidialectal (Extra Easy Boys! It ain't even what you are thinking!) having split her childhood between the UK and the US. But certainly in 'The Fall' she uses a UK accent.

Brian

I think that she favors the UK as on that talk show she was talking 'naturally' with it.

I just watched the The Grand Budapest Hotel. I don't get it, I thought it was supposed to be good?  ???  :P

I just thought the whole thing was silly (but obviously not funny silly like say Monty Python, more like a waste of my time silly), was the humor over my head? (buried in the poetry?) Was there any reason for the map of Mexico birthmark and was there a reason for it to be on the right cheek instead of the left cheek? ..or am I looking desperately for something (meaning, humor) that isn't there?
....Could someone here that enjoyed this movie explain just one or two of the most funny parts to me? I promise to look up any big words used in the explanation.

Me too- everything you said. I do not get it.... at all. At times, it seemed like there was almost some kind of plot just beyond my grasp but then that too kind of drifted away. Not as bad as a David Lynch movie (but what is?) but still incomprehensible. When I see things like that that have such a large public acceptance, I just accept the fact that I have no kulcha and am simply beneath the ability to understand the finer things in life. Not sure what your problem is Marty....  :rotflmao:

I think she can comfortably flip 'back and forth'. As far as the accent, I think she can use either one of those (UK, US) comfortably also.

 ;) ;D ::)

Hey, it is a personal thing but she does not melt my butter.... Especially on a TV series with so many really attractive women. In fact, I would push Ms. Anderson into an open elevator shaft is she was blocking my view of this woman: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2703591/?ref_=tt_cl_t12  Even the baby- sitter is much more attractive IMO and before someone screams 'pervert', she is not 15 years old, she is old enough to buy alcohol in the US. But later in the series, she is not much of a baby- sitter either IMO.  :yikes:

All the way back on-topic..... it is still a great series, even down to the last episodes.

So much for Grimm and Constantine..  Dateline and something to do with the Golden Globes..  I don't feel like switching the channel.  In Farmville, VA at a hotel.

Not at all...I'm just in one of those moods to have something on but don't care...I think it's lack of alcohol.

Watched the 1953 War of the Worlds last night. Haven't watched that in decades but it used to be a favorite when I was a kid. So cheesy. But I still like it.

Is that the one with the Flying Wing dropping the bomb on those naughty Martians ?

Yup! But I was more interested in the light "L" aircraft they crashed in. Couldn't get a good look at it but was wondering what type it was.
