Title: Changing spark plugs on a connie 14 2012

I have been doing a lot of reading about changing  my spark plugs and I must admit that some people have me nearly convinced that  I should let dealer do it at $ 85.00 an hour . I am 64 years of age and have been riding  bikes since 1965 . I have always changed my plugs without problem . Now on this bike they tell me it is very complicated and difficult to do .

Can someone give me some insight on how to do it and explain the complexities of getting to these plugs . Any and all help will be gratly appreciated .

Are these Iridium plugs?
If they are leave them alone.  They will go for 200 K Km.
I changed the plugs in my Accord @ 180000 and you could hardly tell the difference between those and the new ones.
Even if they aren't Iridium I can't imagine that a '12 could have enough miles to need new plugs,  especially when considering shop rate for some pumpkinhead to do all the plastics just to get at them, losing and stripping bolts along the way.

I've got 50k+ miles on mine and I"m just now thinking about doing it having it done.

thanks for the answers. I believe the plugs that are  on the bike are regular plugs and the suggested replacement interval is 12000 km . After that time when replaced by iridium plugs the frequency is more  like 20 000 km . So I believe I was given wrong information and that my friends is why we have this forum . Thanks again for all your help ,if any one else has more info like how difficult is it to change I would be most grateful .

How many miles on your bike? Do you plan on the valve check at the suggested mileage?

I thought that the stockers were iridium?

Standard resistor plug I think.

The NGK-CR9EIA-9 is Iridium on my 08.

When doing a search on that plug through Google, all that comes up is that it's Iridium.  Come on folks, do a little research first.

You're wrong.  They're iridium.  You know it's easy enough to search the Internet with Google or whatever and find the answers.  Where do people come up with this stuff?

Gary, my 08 user's manual on page 168 show's it as an i, not a 1.  I hate it when you can't be sure of that, however there is a 1 shown on the torque specs so that's how I differentiated it (by typeface).

Dealer has been telling me that they are regular resistor plugs and should be changed at 12000 km . This is not the first time I get wrong information .   The bike now has 9000km and I was just preparing  myself  for the change either myself or dealer . I believe I need to go to another dealership .
Regarding valve adjustment I was going to have it done at 24000 as recommended and also because bike is under warranty ,they tell me it should be around $400.00 to $500.00 for the valve adjustment . Why so expensive ?

The valve adjustment is VERY labor intensive.
