ZG, what part is magnatized? The base?  Would that affect the performance of the detector?

I have the magnet handlebar mount, works great, on/off in 1 second!  :)

+1  Same setup. I do wrap a strip of velcro around it.

The base has a magnet in it and you stick another magnet on the bottom of the radar detector, works great, I don't even use a strap and have speed tested it many times at a buck thirty plus...

I tapped the handle bar upright to mount the radar detector as low as possible and reduce interference with the wind screen when the bars are turned to full lock. This did not interfere with the view of the tach.

That's quite a control panel you have above the steering stem. Thanks for your post.

mine mounts out on my "bathroom bars" from Mc Enterprises.  its in a project box for security and weather resistance,  remote display.  Plus it being out to the side I get my rear radar scanning from the V1!  No more getting approached from behind

Some are careful--me--with those screws on the reservoirs. Others, mount GPS and Radios on them. Anywhere you can put a screw, some guy is trying to mount something there.----------------------------------------------------

Mines Velcroed to the top of the brake reservoir with a thin strap over the top. I can't hear it a speed so I use a Marc Parnes visual alert Velcroed on the top of the instrument panel. The combination works well. If it starts raining I just pull it off and drop it into the glove box. I don't speed in the rain anyway.
