Let's talk footpegs
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:59:40 PM »
I need some aftermarket foot-pegs.  Primarily for the pylon.  She says the height is fine, but the length of the peg sucks.  They are kind of that way for the rider as well.. worst pegs on a bike I've ever had.

So.. What are the  stylish riders using???

I'm pretty sure some people are using C10 passenger pegs on the back of their C14s. As for rider pegs, there are lots of options. Murphs pegs are the best looking, in My opinion, while some people are using Buell pegs, which would be the more frugal solution.

My gal does 800 mile days on my stockers. But she's tiny so the pegs may not be an issue

Make sure whatever you do that the pegs have rubber tops.  It makes all the difference in the world.

Yamaha FJR pegs! I use these as my passenger pegs, & they have the rubber pad on top. They work great & you'd never know they are from a different bike. I use these along with peg extensions for my wife, although she prob would be ok without the extensions considering she is 5'4", but does like the extra room.  Ca'mon Kaw, just spend the $$ & give our passengers decent pegs!

Do FJR pegs fit straight on?

Harley somethin ruther store or EBay.

Rider pegs - part #N0006.1A
Passenger pegs - part # N0042.1AK

Thanks Gumby .... are they a straight bolt on fit or are there any mods needed? I am going to stop by the Harley dealer tomorrow and see what they would cost me. If I stop in while I am working I will get a discount.  ;D

I ground a little bit off of the passenger pegs so they would fold up, other than that pretty much a plug'n'play.

If I remember correctly the ones on EBay are cheaper then you can get them at a Harley shop. Maybe not with your discount. I happened to have a Buell XB12XT when I bought my Connie, so I just traded pegs.  ;D

I would imagine they do, but can't say for sure since I've never actually installed em right to the concours mounts. They've always been in the extensions. I would think pegs are pretty universal between manufactures, but maybe not??

Not the most stylish, but C10 passenger pegs fit in place of the C14 passenger pegs.  I had them on my C14 for several years.  Just make sure you get all the C10 hardware.

They will be going on extensions...  So probably will fit in that case....  :)

No idea about the rears but I'm fine with my stock pegs.

Yep.  I am not even sure I still have rears on mine (since it will NEVER have a passenger).  I find the front/rider/driver stock pegs to be just fine.

UPDATE:  Yep, I removed them when I added the rear bars and didn't bother putting them back on.

I have a question for those who have the extensions.
Do the pillion's feet interfere with the riders?  I've got size 12's and ride with either my arches or the balls of my feet on my lowered pegs. I did an estimation of where the extensions might put the pegs and it seems like the passenger feet would be bumping my legs (I may have estimated wrong).
Any input would be appreciated.
