17-degrees right now, high today 26. Somebody said there might be some accumulation light today. I had about 1/8" when I left work this morning for my 100 mile trip to work. Just heard they might be closing some schools early today.

Last Friday was 80-degrees, Sunday had sleet and freezing rain. Gotta love Texas weather.

They called off school today. Not because of snow but because they couldn't get half the buses started.

I like it. But how much fun is it at -15?

Just as with the bike, you have to dress for the cold temps. Pic #'s 1, 3, & 4 were taken at minus 18. 1 & 4 are on a frozen lake. We had a GREAT time and we did over 100 miles that day.

Currently, minus 10 with a minus 20 wind chill.

It's the new english, Conrad.  Get with the program already.  You're retired.  You should have time to re-learn the language.

No, not really. I tried reading it slowly and that did seem to help some. In so doing, I see now that you said ONE f, no wind. The first time I read it as "if here no wind".    :-[

Maybe you're not doing it right?    ;)

True that...

About 15 years ago, I was living in North Bay, Ontario.  (Despite it's name. North Bay is just about as far south as you can go and still be considered Northern Ontario.)  Now Southern Ontario might seem like a wintry punishment to some of you southerners, but it's downright tropical compared to Northern Ontario.  I'm from the south (Southern Ontario  ;) )  and was working on a two year contract "back north" so, in an effort to fit in with the locals, I bought a sled - a Polaris Indy 650 (back then it was one of the biggest, baddest sleds you could get) and joined some guys I'd met on the local trails.

What a shock to someone who thought 'trails' meant a little path through the woods...   The trails up there are wider than some highways, and sometimes maintained better than some northern roads...  A trip to Timmins, from North Bay is about 4 hours in a vehicle on the highway.  It's 2.5 hours screaming through the countryside on a trail as wide, and smoother than a 4 lane highway...

Yeah - it was fun.  But I no longer have the sled, or the apparel.  I'm back *south* again and the snow and/or cold is once again my enemy.

*South....    LOL...  Gets me every time. It's downright fun saying that to you Texans and Floridians...     :rotflmao:

Hey! That's the same sled that I have now. A Polaris Indy 650. It's still a bas ass sled and will easily do 100mph. My sled is old and dated, a bit beat up too but it runs VERY well.

Who shovels snow anymore? Get yourself a nice little single stage 2 cycle snowblower, best thing I ever did for myself.
