It's a Kawasaki....the Concours 1200
« on: May 12, 2011, 06:34:49 pm »
I'm the proud owner of a 2002 ZZR1200, the small-fairing, chain-drive, no hard bags version of the Concours...or is it the ZX-11 on steroids?

Hurry up and wreck it so you can sell the alternator.  I'm second in line behind knight! (j/k - but seriously, I'm second in line.)

Ain't nevah seen one of those before! Love being able to actually see the motor for a change. Was this a one-year wonder?

Neither has any Kawasaki dealer (although I try to get them to think this is a "special edition" that they only made a few of, just for laughs).

I built this bike starting in mid-2007 by converting an engine from a 2003 ZRX 1200R to shaft drive and designing my own front engine mount to make it "Concours compatible".

Links to pictures of the entire project here:

I also grafted the front fork assembly (forks, wheel, brakes, fender, etc.) from the same ZRX to the Concours. Mean Streak wheel basically finishes up the chassis upgrade.
