Numbness due to handlebars buzzing and vibrations
« on: June 11, 2014, 03:35:23 PM »
I Want to share my experience about the  handlebars BUSSY and VIBRATIONS, had that problem since I bought the bike and after 38k get worse, did everything trying to fix the problem but the only thing that really fix it was adjusting the Steering Stem Nut ,even that when you check for play and seem to be ok it might be a little loose and that is enough to produce that buzzing in the handlebars , now  my numbness problem is gone, bike is lot better than when new, Now I believe those who say they do not have that problem on their bikes

I put a set of generic grip puppies on my bike the day I got it, so I have never felt any vibes.  Thanks for sharing, for the just in case future situation.  tomp

Can you feel the heat through them?

When I read the original post I was thinking throttle body sync.

Yes.  Grip covers will delay the onset of heat, but then it comes through fine.

I agree with checking the bearing pre-load, as mine with loose bearings and worn front tire will get a wobble/headshake that will get your attention... :o

The original 021 Crapstone front tire made a vibration until I threw it away. What a P.O.S.!!!

OP
Are you talking about the aluminum nut on the top of the triple clamp or the ring nuts below?  I'd like to try the adjustment just want to know which to adjust.
I've developed the vibe in the last 5000 km so obviously something has changed, maybe this is it.
Man do I love this bike! Red '09

If you have a more specific explanation and possibly a pic it would be great.

Thanks
